One day of Maya's life

Siew Leng Loi asked me, how did you spend your one whole day? Did you evaluate your day in details? You analyzed your reports or numbers right up to bit cents..bla..bla. But did you scrub yours, to know whether your days had been spent effectively?

And me, with my most confused mimics replied, “Errr are you talking about that fuel hike thing arr?? Giler pissed minah itu. She must be thinking – takde wawasan langsung itu olang.

But I did give a thought about it, or must I? Is there any value add by doing that? And so I scribbled few items and it seems quite interesting. And here goes nothing..

  • Woke up at 6.30 am
  • Took hot bath and was thinking I shall not buy this lifebuoy shower cream once it finished coz the smell didn’t last that long.
  • Solat
  • Choosing either wearing skirts or white pants that laid on the bed but ended up wearing a dress in wardrobe. Wasted 10 mins on that alone.
  • Packed for breakfast, nasik goreng semalam, in pink Tupperware - a gift from office mate.
  • Off to work at 7.55 with Darlius.
  • Arrived at Plaza porch at 8.15a.m. A Nepalease guard greeted “Morning Maam” and that reminds me of one guard who used to tabik spring siap hentak kaki. Where is he now, mmm..prolly back in Nepal selling nasik padprik. At concourse, a Malay guard greeted “Assalamualaikum kak” and that reminds me of my ex-primary school mate who was one of the guard there. Mmm..where could she be now..? Prolly was stationed some other place. Gosh what was her name..but it starts with M. Snapped The Sun and went into lift. No one. Great.
  • Logon. Check e-mails, re-park cars in FB and prepare presentation for tomorrow.
  • Breakfast partners not in yet, hungry, had breakfast at balcony with The Sun-what lewd-hand-signage? and teh tarik.
  • Work
  • Break – refill water at pantry. Saw Missy – one of the managers in the center, she led me to aside and told me how her stress level reached to “dah nak mati dah ni”.. Oh dear! What can I say. I truly felt for her. I can’t decide what’s best for her but I try to be good listener.
  • Work
  • Lunch with Ana – today at food court. Teringin mee mamak-tak pedas-basah satuuu and Ana murtabak. Asked Ana to find seat. And I was watching that mamak frying the noodle and ahaaa…now I comprehend the term ‘basah’ to this mamak. You see the stove was designed in a way where the water tap is on top of the frying pan – prolly to ease washing the utensils after each cooking. And apparently, this tap was also being used to give the ‘basah’ in my noodle. Selambe je.. mamak tu kasik air paip dalam mee goreng tu..Yaikss…and as Ana was 6 months pregnant, I saved my discovery and digg in my mee goreng basah… rezki kan..tak baik membazir..
  • Back to office. Work.
  • Solat
  • Break - asked Hani help to send the exe file to play DVD, unfortunately it hanged. Arggh.. ping Azmi for help. He said he’ll convert the file to MP3/4 by tomorrow. Went up and passed him the disc. He then sent file which he sang 2 songs Father & Son and Blackbird - unplugged. Not bad at all. I told him if he’s going unplugged, maybe he could try something that might test his vocal ability like Pearl Jam – When I leave thisworld or GNR – Patience. Heheh..sounds familiar.
  • Solat
  • Work again
  • Clubber shoot emails to all for next week auditions and its contestants and I’m one of them. Kecoh. Start receiving emails and pings from office-mate saying that they’ll bring banner as show of support. I told them that the banner should be made foldable, just in case I’m out of pitch, they could slowly fold the banner and slipped into their pockets and pretend as if they don’t know me. I don’t mind. Heheh.
  • Logoff at 6.55 pm. I was walking fast towards the lobby and the glass door opening was extremely slow. Someone will definitely knock this glass and break his nose, one day, I thought.
  • While waiting for Darlius to pick me up, saw one of the KPMQ boss, rushed down and drove off in a 5.5 black BMW and they have probably have 4 or 5 of it, assuming from the number of drivers that hanged around in the lobby area. Mmm..how lavish. The business must be really good, I thought. And my company only pampered its GM with only one Mercedes. I can vouched this kinda scenario back in 90’s boom era but when the Ringgit was pegged, companies started to minimize cost by selling off luxury cars and switched to Perdana V6.for example. But now when everything get its hike except salary, it’s quite a puzzle. And having these exercised from an independent body, who should know better on how to minimize cost and oh talk about rules of to be and be seen independent, I am skeptical. Oh well, probably they saved on the fixtures and fittings, as their staff are mobile working at their client’s office and so they invested more on the motor vehicle. Oh Maya you're so mean. Ya, I know.
  • Ahaa.. Darlius arrived and he bought me my fav kebab for dinner. How thoughtful. Cium mulut sikit..
  • And the rest of the night remained sacred. Malas dah nak tulis..
Interesting or dull..?
